Myoden Cricket Club, the new entrant in the East Kanto group came back strong in the 2nd T20 game by beating the well-balanced Falcons team by 126 runs. Myoden CC, based in Chiba is an old club in Japan Cricket. In their first game against Tusker, the batting line up collapsed on 59 runs chasing 164 runs. This game was an opportunity for them to make the amendments and the venue set was Sano 3 Cricket Ground.
Myoden CC captain Sanket Pandhari won the toss and had no hesitation in option to bat first.
Myoden Cricket Club XI batting
The falconsbowling attack started well to restrict Myoden batting line up and had a major grip over the game. After 10overs🏏, the scorecard read 67/3. It was until left-hander Nilesh Shahane stepped up the game scored 50 in just 23 balls. After 16 overs, Myoden were 133/4. He was out in 16th over and the Falcons still had hope of restricting Myoden to 160 odd runs.
These plans were shattered when Sanket started where Nilesh left off. Scoring 44 of just 19 balls, the team put on a mighty total of 181/6 on board. Sanket Pandhari remained unbeaten on 44 runs. For Falcons, Anil ChavanandK. Nawaz grabbed 2 wickets each.
Jaggar Falcon XI Chasing 182 to win
Falcon’s have a batting line up that has done well in the 40 over league games in this season. Chasing 182 runs on Sano 3 ground is achievable considering the fact that the river end boundary is very small. Myoden captain Sanket opened the bowling and confidence gained in the batting showed up. The strategy of pushing the Batter on the back foot with the short ball and then pitching a fuller delivery worked well. After 5 overs, the Falcon were 20/4 and the contest looked over.
Myoden did not let that intensity go as they picked up wickets regularly. Myoden wrapped up the game in the 15th over for 55runs. 126run victory is a huge margin in a T20 game. Overall the discipline in bowling made the difference between the two teams. For Myoden, Sanket grabbed 3 wickets well supported by Deven Pahinkar and Kuldip Mule who took 2 wickets each.
Myoden Cricket Club XI has seen the extremes in two T20 games and with that, the captain and Team management need to regroup to find the plan for consistent performance. For Falcons, this is a second straight loss in a T20 league game. In the last game, the Batting unit posted 185runs which was easily chased down in the 19th over by the Rangers team. It may be one of those cases where the core players have played almost every weekend and maybe tired.
With Cricket activities put on hold till 11th may, this might be good opportunity for both team management to regroup and come back stronger in the season.
